CLEVELAND-Such lovely growing pains! The Baby is rapidly turning into a bright, healthy little kid, and you should see how it's growing! No, this is not a Christmas card, or a birthday call, it's just a little note to all of the godparents out there who've been waiting for a progress report.
Sunday from three to five PM is -der-21 rap, to be led by same. Iuesday is open for board, staff. and committee meetings. Saturdays are reserved for scheduled events and functions. So if you're planning to just drop in, and it's not a counseling or rap group night, please give a call ahead, to let the staffers know you're coming. Or give a call to let them know you want to help them out--if you're interested, you'll be trained and put on hotline, or reception, in short order The Center needs people, to see it through a demanding infancy into a vigorous childhood.

The Community Center is finally decorated, thanks to a whole lot of people who donated furnishings, among them, Donald Skaggs, David Holleb, Zack Haley, Leon Stevens, Armand Carrucci (for the bookshelves, tables, benches, and cushions), Albert Graham, Brian DeWitt, and especially Jim Kozman. If your name doesn't show up here, and it should, then make known to me, holler, and I want to get you in. I really want to praise all the donors properly. Also, a whole lot of people who put time and effort in fixing up-hanging doors, polishing floors, putting in light 7 fixtures who have been photographed here already. You know who you are the glue. Now that much is done, another big task faces the Center. The provisional period is over, and it's time to set up longterm structures. The Community Center Charter Committee of the G.E.A.R. Board is meeting at the Center, weekly, through August (see calendar), to write by-laws and an operations manual to govern the Center. Many of the policies are already determined, and need now only to be codified; further on that, as the codificaton proceeds. But one of the policies ought to be mentioned, because it involves a change from one of the original purposes of the Center. Because the offices are small, and not completely private, and because of the nature of the counseling process, the Center is no longer open to drop-ins, Wednesday and Thursday nights, after July twenty, a Wednesday. Monday night is open women's rap night, and Friday Sunday 7/31 under-21 rap 3:00 night is open men's rap night. 5:00 pm.
